Companies tend to value hard skills, like coding, and undervalue soft skills, like writing. Anyone can write. Not everyone can code.

That doesn't mean anyone write well, of course, but since the barrier to entry is lower, employers can always find content writers for a deal. Unfortunately, that only makes it harder for the skilled, experienced content writers to get paid "what they're worth."
