I applaud Medium for having two layers of human creation, with the Boost program and Nominators in support of the program, but there remains a surfeit of endlessly regurgitated "How I made $5K last month with this simple trick" articles. Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of good stuff on Medium, and I love the community, but too many writers lean on engagement-baiting templates that they rehash ad infinitum. Why? Because it's efficient, and it works. Those writers make good money churning those kinds of posts out. As long as they do, they'll keep writing that stuff, which definitely does not "deepen our understanding of the world," and muscles out other writing that does. The buck has to stop with you.
