I think about the Hippocratic oath when it comes to accountability, specifically, "Either help or do not harm the patient." I had a tendency to want to be right during discussions that can quickly devolve into arguments, until I realized I wasn't helping. You don't "win" arguments. You just sow resentment. Whenever I find myself feeling aggrieved about some trivial matter, I ask myself if insisting on a point is going to help anyone, and almost always the answer is no. I want to make things better, or at the very least not make them worse. Thanks for sharing, Walter.
